Georgetown, South Carolina

South Carolina's third oldest city after Charleston and Beaufort, Georgetown was established by British colonists in 1729 and named after King George II. The Georgetown Historic District, a 32-block area that consists of 60 homes, is listed on the National Historic Register. Extensive renovations have produced the riverfront Harborwalk, with its specialty shops, restaurants and museums along Front Street.
